Meet the Musicians
Vicky Iveson - Violin
Vicky started off her musical career on the violin, aged 7 and studied during her childhood taking part in various musical activities including County Youth Orchestra and All Souls Orchestra in London. Her career as a teacher and performer took her to Abu Dhabi where she performed with Sydney Opera House Touring Productions, George Fenton and The Blue Planet and the Jackson 5, as well as performing at the Dubai Gold Cup, State Ceremonies and frequent string quartet performances.
Since returning to the UK, Vicky has performed across the local area as a soloist and quartet/orchestral musician.
Beccy Spencer - Viola
Caroline Cox - Violin
Caroline is a graduate of the Royal College of Music and a Secondary School teacher of Music and Maths. She learnt the violin and piano from a young age, leading the Hillingdon School’s Symphony Orchestra for two years before attending the RCM, learning with Trevor Williams and Dona Lee Croft. Upon graduating, Caroline studied her PGCE at the London Institute of Education. She taught the majority of her career at Watford Grammar School for Boys and latterly as Assistant Headteacher at Nower Hill High School in Harrow. Caroline is a regular member of several local and London based Orchestras and Ensembles. She lives in Watford with her husband Adrian and they have three grown up children.
Fran Freer - Cello
Fran’s piano and ‘cello studies began from around the age of 7. Coming from a musical family, there was always plenty of opportunity to play one instrument or the other. She started orchestral playing with Harrow Young Musicians and was selected to play both the Haydn C major ‘Cello Concerto and subsequently the Elgar ‘Cello Concerto with the Senior Orchestra. Fran graduated from Trinity College of Music having studied with the eminent ‘cellists, Maryse Chome and Derek Aviss. Following her time at Trinity, Fran performed regularly in London’s West End, for BBC plays and background music and The British Film Institute, along with many other recordings and concerts.
Fran now lives in Northamptonshire and performs regularly with local ensembles and continues to play in orchestras and chamber groups in London.
Beccy grew up in Bristol at a time when youngsters were fortunate enough to learn a musical instrument, initially for no cost. Being the tallest in the group she was handed a viola and quickly grew to love it. She joined her local youth orchestra, eventually leading the section, and was lucky enough to join them on many exciting overseas trips, including Bermuda and the Far East! She studied music and maths at Nottingham University and then had two careers - nursing and educational administration. Throughout her working life making time to play her viola has been a top priority and she regularly plays with many orchestras and chamber ensembles in the London area.

" When I arrived at the church, I had names in mind who I'd be happy to see and listen to and I was delighted to see brilliant string players who I know and respect. Before they started I knew I was in for a treat! As a quartet, the four players from the start of the concert moulded together as one. I can sincerely say that I enjoyed listening to this group and I am so pleased I didn't stay at home and fall asleep watching the football!'"

"I booked the Cassio String Quartet to perform at a friends wedding, and they were outstanding. From the moment I first contacted them with the requirements, they made me feel like I was in safe hands. They played a lovely varied mix of music and they helped to create a beautiful and elegant atmosphere that perfectly complimented the occasion. The newly married couple told me that the music made their day even more special and many guests commented on how wonderful the quartet sounded. I would truly recommend them to anyone looking for talented, reliable musicians who can elevate an event and make it an occasion to remember. Thank you for helping to create such a magical day"
